Dr. Kartik Gopalan joined the CS department at Binghamton in 2006. His research interests are in experimental computer systems, primarily in Virtualization, Computer Networks, Cyber Security, and Distributed Systems. He heads the Operating Systems and Networks (OSNET) Group and is affiliated with the Secure Systems and Software (S3) Group

Dr. Gopalan received Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stony Brook University, M.S. in Computer Science from Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, and B.E. in Computer Engineering from Delhi Institute of Technology. Before joining Binghamton, he was an Assistant Professor in Computer Science at the Florida State University, Lead Architect and Developer at Rether Networks Inc., and Senior Software Engineer at Wipro Global R&D. He is a recipient of the National Science Foundation Early CAREER Award.
