Deflate Your Stress, Inflate Your Happiness!

Join M-HOPE to deflate your stress by practicing deep breathing using balloons. We'll also help you relax and inflate your happiness by teaching you how to make balloon animals!

Pop! The Stress Away!

Finals Week is fast approaching! Take some time out of your day to relax, come to App and Pop the Stress Away! There will be carnival-themed activities such as a Soda "Pop" ring toss, Balloon Dart Board Challenge, and Bubble Wrap Hop along with prizes and handouts of bubbles and lollipops. Come out, relax and learn about healthy study habits and common de-stressing techniques from the Dean of Students Office and REACH Health Services Program!

Harpur Edge will host an art therapy student from Marywood University who will lead a scripted meditation to be followed by an art activity.

Meet us out on The Spine and have some fun playing lawn games and relieving your stress through games and activities! We will have our version of the "bean bag toss game," along with hopscotch, a "punching" game with a chance to win REACH inspired prizes, and feet upon feet of bubble wrap stretched on the sidewalk for you to pop! Float your worries away! Grab a friend and head to the pool. Listen to our beach party themed music and relax on a noodle or swim a few laps.

M-HOPE will be around the Union handing out healthy snacks and study tips to fuel your brain so you can be successful during finals!

Hiking and Qigong with Patti Dowd, Group Fitness program coordinator
Noon-1 p.m.
Explore the natural beauty of the Nature Preserve as you hike the terrain and then focus attention on your personal breathing and place in nature. Qigong can help you refocus and recharge. Bring a water bottle and wear sturdy shoes. Meet in front of the East Gym.ding out healthy snacks and study tips to fuel your brain so you can be successful during finals!

High Ropes Challenge and Zipline

Outdoor Pursuits offers an afternoon of challenge, comradery and "higher education"! We know the pressures at the end of the semester are building and what a better way to really "test yourself? Tell a friend or a project group. Climb the cargo net and traverse the high ropes course then zipline down. Groups of four will be started every half hour. Sign up as an individual or with others. Space is limited. Sign up early.

Punch out your stress with a Pink Gloves Boxing fitness class. Pink Gloves Boxing (PGB) is a unique fitness program for women founded on the idea that everyone has a champion on the inside. The small fitness group combines conditioning and boxing drills. PGB is about building fitness, strength and confidence. (No sparring or physical contact). No membership required. No experience necessary. Dress for physical activity.

  • Get caught studying! Deans Team will be delivering treats, such as healthy snacks, to students they find in the library and around campus studying throughout Stress Free Spring.

  • Look out for something happening in your residence hall or dining hall every day!
  • The Discovery Advisors will be sending out finals preparation tip sheets to their students as well as posting tweets with each of the tips throughout the remainder of the semester.
