Meditation Nation

Join RAs Neal and Ryan and Professor Charles Goodman to learn helpful meditation practices. Herbal refreshments (tea) will be provided. The purpose of the event is to use professional instruction to move meditation from the category of an abstract concept/practice to a useful and applicable skill that residents will find beneficial throughout their lives.

Sunset Hike

With finals and summer approaching, it is important to stay hydrated during this time. Dehydration can not only cause your body physical harm but can also harm you mentally. Dehydration can cause students to do poorly on exams due to its role when studying. This event is to inform students about how to stay healthy during the last few weeks in the semester and be able to maintain good grades while doing so

We'll give you the basics of overall troubleshooting and take you through a pre-ride inspection. Bring your questions! If weather permits, a fun bicycle rodeo will take place in the East Gym tennis court parking lot E-1. Ascend 50 feet above ground and into the canopy of an oak tree! We'll introduce you to the use of ropes and harnesses as you "climb" a tree. Space is limited. Sign up early. This event will cover the subject of managing one's health by pursuing and teaching stress relieving activities to help manage stress in times of need. Such topics and activities include a general nutrition and sleep presentation, making granola bars and stress balls with ease, and a quick and relaxing yoga session. The event will last approximately an hour and will hopefully leave residents feeling relaxed and less stressed.

Bike Repair 2.0

Learn to adjust those squeaky brakes, change a tire, or deal with a derailleur. We'll give you the basics of overall troubleshooting and take you through a pre-ride inspection in addition to helping you with the more complicated issues. Bring your replacement parts along for installation assistance if you would like.  Sign up in the Outdoor Pursuits office, Rec Center - Room 10, by Friday, April 25.  $18 includes an emergency tool kit; FREE w/out the kit.  Questions? River Trails and Ice Cream Bike Ride

Binghamton
Pedal the historic Binghamton River Trail along the Chenango River. We'll show you bicycle routes that will help you commute between downtown and campus without hitting the Parkway. Bring $$ for a frozen yogurt stop on the way back. If you need a bike, BOP bikes can be assigned for the ride. Local maps will be available. Meet outside the Outdoor Pursuits office, side door of the East Gym with your bike.  Sign up in the Outdoor Pursuits office, Rec Center - Room 10, by Wednesday, April 30.  $5 w/ BOP bike, FREE w/ your bike. Discover what is emerging in our forests on this leisurely hike along the Cayuga trail. We'll take our time looking for and identifying both wild flowers and common woodland plants. Dress for the weather, pack a lunch, snacks and a water bottle.
