A Crucial Learning Tool


At Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences, the Innovative Simulation and Practice Center (ISPC) is an integral part of the education experience. The ISPC provides students with hands-on skills training, high-fidelity patient simulations, standardized patient experiences and virtual-reality scenarios.

About the ISPC

The ISPC introduced simulation to the undergraduate nursing program in 2008, soon followed by the advanced practice nurse practitioner program. In 2022, the program earned re-accreditation by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare in the areas of assessment and teaching/education.

Facilities

In 2020, the ISPC relocated the second floor of the Health Sciences Building on the University's Health Sciences Campus in Johnson City. The space offers more than 13,000 square feet of space designed to serve the health science programs and beyond.
