Decker School of Nursing

Decker School of Nursing

DSON prides itself on both the quality and the quantity of its clinical practice experiences that are seen as the foundation for graduates' success in professional practice. Prior to graduating, students complete hundreds of hours of off-site clinical rotation experiences in acute care and community settings as part of course work. Furthermore, the Decker School also houses an Innovative Simulation and Practice Center. The Center has become an integral component of the education each student experiences at the Decker School of Nursing.

About Alumni Research News & Events
The School is named in honor of Dr. G. Clifford and Florence B. Decker, long-time residents of Binghamton, NY. With great foresight, Dr. Decker established The Decker Foundation to support educational and health care activities in the region. We are proud to carry the Decker name as a legacy to the generosity and belief in the power of education of Dr. and Mrs. Decker. Once you graduate from the Decker School, you are automatically a member of the Alumni Association, and this membership is free for life. Throughout the year, both on and off campus, the Alumni Association sponsors events and programs to bring you together with fellow alumni and to further your professional development. In addition, Alumni Association members can take advantage of a number of benefits and services. The Kresge Center for Nursing Research (KCNR) serves as the main research resource for faculty and students in the Decker School of Nursing. The accomplishments of the Center for Nursing Research of the Decker School of Nursing garnered the attention of the Kresge Foundation which, in 1997, named and generously endowed the Decker School of Nursing Roger L. and Mary F. Kresge Center for Nursing Research.
