Professor Kitchin has many years of experience in health care with a focus on surgical services. She has held positions as a clinical nurse and educator, as well as administrative and leadership positions. She served as Director of the Laser Center of the Southern Tier, Special Project Manager for the development of a prototype ambulatory surgery center in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Director of Perioperative Services at Lourdes Hospital, BInghamton. Professor Kitchin received a baccalaureate degree in nursing from Syracuse University and holds master's degrees in Nursing Education and Healthcare Administration from Regis University, Colorado. She has been awarded the honored nurse of the year from Lourdes Hospital and has been nominated for District 5, NYSNA, honored nurse of the year. She maintains membership in many nursing organizations and is an active member at the local level.
