S3IP researchers are developing new energy optimization and thermal modeling tools and techniques, which integrate computing, software instrumentation, sensing and control algorithms, thermal, fluid flow, and mechanical analysis and simulation for the design of energy efficient electronic systems and data centers. Research efforts focus on new thermal management systems that are dynamically predictive and self sensing, and target the computing system and the cooling infrastructures in a synergistic fashion to improve energy efficiency and thermal management system simultaneously.
