Binghamton PREP

BU PREP organizes graduate-level workshops geared toward the professional development and career aspirations of graduate students. BU PREP workshops center on four competencies that graduate students need to succeed: planning, resilience, engagement and professionalism.

Workshops topics include resume-writing, networking, navigating the academic job market, and fellowship and grant writing.

BU PREP workshops are free and open to all graduate students in all disciplines.

GRD Courses

GRD courses focus on practical knowledge and skills that will complement your academic work. They are designed to add value to your graduate education.

GRD courses are typically offered during the Winter and Summer sessions so that they coordinate with your degree progress.

Fellowships and Funding

Clark Fellowship Program for Diversity

The Clark Fellowship is a merit-based fellowship awarded each year to newly admitted master’s and doctoral students who contribute to the diversity of their graduate programs. The Fellowship provides a full array of support, including competitive academic year stipends, full tuition scholarships, health insurance, guaranteed award periods, and opportunities for research and travel funding.

LSAMP-BD

LSAMP-BD helps eligible students obtain a PhD by providing the financial support to pursue graduate study, faculty mentors to guide them academically and professionally, and a support network of staff to assist them in accomplishing their goals.

NSF-AGEP

The NSF-AGEP program supports underrepresented minorities obtaining graduate degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), enhancing their preparation for faculty positions in academia.

The NSF-AGEP program is now in its evaluation phase, and plans are underway to reapply for funding to continue supporting its activities.
