Planning Information for Science Majors (pdf, 37k)  
For your convenience we list those mathematic and physical science courses that are common introductory courses required for science majors and typically open to students in the freshman or sophomore college years. This list is not intended to be all inclusive and you are strongly encouraged to consult the Binghamton University Bulletin for requirements for a specific major features tools, techniques and resources designed to assist you in creating the means and structure to effectively plan your current semester and beyond.

Harpur Degree Requirements 
Harpur students are held to high standards, and are encouraged to grow academically and personally through our Harpur Degree requirements. The coursework and level of scholarship expected of Harpur students is detailed here.

General Education Requirements
All students at Binghamton University must complete General education requirements. General education courses provide students with a breath of knowledge and experience acrossing the liberal arts.

Merit Scholarships
The Office of External Scholarships, Fellowships and Awards works with undergraduate and graduate students to identify funding opportunities and then assists them during the application process. The majority of these opportunities are funded by private foundations or federal sources and often involve a lengthy application process. They are awarded on the basis of broad-based competition among applicants nationwide, not just among Binghamton students. Scholarships and fellowships come in all types and sizes, ranging from the widely recognized Rhodes Scholarship to opportunities for funded summer internships.
