What is an Incomplete (I)?

An Incomplete (I) is a notation indicating an agreement between a student and a professor that any remaining coursework will be completed by a certain deadline after the semester's end.

Incompletes are at the discretion of the course instructor. They may be granted if a student has made a substantial commitment to a course but additional work must be submitted before a letter grade can be assigned. Please consult with the course instructor/professor prior to the end of the semester to determine if an Incomplete is appropriate.

If a course has been designated as Incomplete, do not register for the same course in the future, as you will not receive credit for the course twice. An Incomplete must be changed to a letter grade by the course instructor prior to end of the semester after the course was initially taken.

Please consult with an academic advisor if you have any questions regarding an Incomplete.
