No. If you are a freshman, it is impossible to choose the "wrong" courses. This is true because every course you choose as a freshman will satisfy at least one degree requirement. For example, if you take two courses which satisfy the same General Education requirement, one will fill the Gen Ed and the other will satisfy elective credits towards the 126 credits required for graduation.
With this being said, the following rules should govern course selection for your first semester:
-Take no more than two math/science courses per semester unless more are dictated by your intended major.
-Choose a balanced schedule. In other words, do not take all of your courses in the same discipline and/or subject area.
-Do not duplicate coursework for which you already have credit.
