Akoito Club meets weekly to study and practice this form of martial arts. All interested participants are welcome.

Animation Club
is for fans of Japanese animation, people who are interested in animation in general and those who are curious about Japanese animation. The group meets every Saturday to watch one or two Japanese animations. A membership fee is paid each semester.

B-boy/B-girl Club was created to provide an opportunity for breakers to develop their dance skill, strength and flexibility on a regular basis. The group is a great social experience that promotes ethnic diversity and positivity through hip-hop culture.

Badminton Club meets weekly for informal play in the East Gym. Some members engage in outside competition; others value play and the social function of groups. All ability levels are welcome.

Binghamton Bowling Club members bowl competitively on an intercollegiate level. They are active in club activities and work toward the club goal of attaining the highest possible degree of competitive bowling. Any bowler, beginner or pro, looking for a good time is encouraged to attend.

Crew/Rowing Team Crew (kru) n. [ME & OFr/kroo, rowing, pp. of/creistre/, to grow]. 1. A group of people working toward a common goal. 2. A short haircut. 3. A Motley band (see Crue). 4. A group of people intense enough and crazy enough to be up at 5:30 a.m., braving the water, in the best physical shape, preserving the Ivy tradition. (This dictionary definition brought to you by Binghamton Crew. All are welcome — novice and experienced men and women.)

Cycling Team is a race-oriented group of cyclists who promote cycling as a competitive medium and a means to increase health and fitness. During the season, we travel extensively throughout the East. Cyclists of all ability levels who are interested in increasing their riding skills and experiencing the excitement of bike racing are welcome.

Equestrian Team is a hunt-seat/stock-seat (English and Western) equitation club that competes actively within the Intercollegiate Horse Show Associa-tion. This organization accepts all levels of riding ability and encourages beginners to join.

Fencing Team is a competitive intercollegiate team. Beginners are welcome. Instruction, practice and competition are held in foil, epee and saber. Fencing stresses speed, endurance and strategy. The team meets several times a week. Come and learn the sport of princes.

Field Hockey Club
a relatively new club on campus that competes against other collegiate club teams in the area. Both fall and spring games.

Gamer’s Guild provides contacts for fantasy role players and card players interested in games, campaigns, tournaments, conventions, etc. All participants are welcome. Experience is not necessary; imagination is recommended.

Ice Hockey Club competes in conference play and has a full schedule of home and away games against other competitive hockey programs. All interested players are welcome.

Kickline, a 30-member squad, performs at all home basketball games. As part of the Bearcats Spirit Program, the Kickline provides entertainment by performing a number of different dance routines during the halftime show.

Live Action Role Playing (LARP) Group Did you ever play Dungeons and Dragons? Did you ever imagine yourself as the hero or heroine of a swashbuckling movie? Did you ever wish you could play a character and interact with other people who were playing their own characters? If so, why not sign on with us? We hold events where people either play their own characters or create a great experience by helping to run the event. We also hold practices where we build skill in using our foam "weapons" by playing "Capture the Flag" and other games.

MAGIC:
The Gathering and Collectible Card Game Club Just how good are you? Play MAGIC: The Gathering, Star Wars, Middle Earth and other collectible card games against Binghamton’s best. Great trading opportunities are available. Newcomers, come and learn about these great games.

Men’s Lacrosse Team
is a competitive intercollegiate club team. Its schedule consists of a short fall pre-season and a full spring season. Experience is welcome, but not necessary. The team seeks commitment, dedication and desire.

Men’s Ultimate Frisbee Club
is a competitive intercollegiate club team. All are welcome to come play this fast-paced sport. Tournaments are held year-’round. The team competes throughout the Northeast and has traveled to tournaments in North Carolina and Louisiana. Some legs, a disc and cheer are all that’s needed to play this sport, which values hard, exciting play and spirit of the game.

Mountain Biking Club
Join the Mountain Biking Club to challenge yourself and ride enjoyable trails throughout Binghamton.
Outdoors Club is a student-run organization for students experienced or interested in outdoor and adventure activities. Organized trips have included backpacking in the Adirondacks and Catskills, cross-country skiing, caving, rock climbing instruction and "ropes course" indoor adventures, as well as day hikes locally and in Pennsylvania and eastern New York. Future activities are anything a student leader can provide. In addition to planning organized activities, the club is a meeting place for people with common outdoors-related interests. Experienced students may develop their skills by planning and leading activities/trips.

Racquetball Club for men and women is a competitive team that plays a full intercollegiate schedule against teams throughout New York state. Tryouts take place in the fall and the season runs through April.

Roller Bladers Club uses the campus and nearby facilities for fun in in-line skating. The competitive aspect of the club is developing.

Roller Hockey Club competes in a 16-team league that plays three times a week.

Rotisserie Sports Club Do you like to sip a favorite beverage and catch a good game? Maybe go see the Binghamton Mets on a field trip? Or even Yankee Stadium? Ever hear of players like Ken Griffey Jr., Mark McGwire or Greg Maddux? We run an annual baseball and football rotisserie (or fantasy) league in which you get to "own" players and watch their actual stats count to your "team’s" advancement. Put together your own championship team! We have leagues for rookies and "roto" experts and we are open to everyone.

Running Club is a three-sector club that was formed for the safety of Binghamton University students and as an outlet for those students whose schedule does not permit them to be able to participate in varsity athletics. The club consists of two levels of competitive sectors and a non-competitive sector.

Shotokan Karate practices the Japanese style of Shotokan Karate. The group belongs to the Japanese Karate Association and the North Atlantic Karate Federation. Beginners are welcome. Practices are held several times a week, and members are expected to attend two practices a week.

Ski Club (recreational) provides affordable skiing for the advanced, intermediate and beginner skier. The club runs weekly trips to Greek Peak, a local ski area, and week-long trips out West and to Vermont.

Ski Team is a competing member of the NCSA. All serious skiers interested in intercollegiate competition are urged to contact the ski team for more information. Beginning and experienced racers are welcome. The team begins practice in the fall; meets are held in January and February.

Snowboard Club is for beginners and rippers alike. We go to Greek Peak during weekday evenings and democratically decide where to go each weekend. We are open to men, women and anyone else.

Table Tennis Club is dedicated to the world’s most widely played individual game. Join and raise your level of play. The group is expected to enter competitive events.

Tasmanian Devils Rugby Club is the closest thing you’ll get to a contact sport and a feeling of self-accomplishmen.

Thunder Deck Hockey Club offers the chance to play and watch competitive, full-contact floor hockey. Members play year-’round, with practices, scrimmages and games against other schools and club teams.

Volleyball Club
is open to all abilities. We have formal practices, scrimmages and games during the week and on weekends. Since there is no men’s volleyball team, members of the club will be selected to play on the USVBA club team. The club team plays in USVBA tournaments, college tournaments and occasional coed invitationals.

Washin-ryu Karate is a traditional Japanese martial art translated as "harmony with the truth." Formally introduced to the United States by Hide Liko (Hidy) Ochiai, Washin-ryu stresses self-development through strengthening of the mind and body. No experience is necessary, and members will learn Kata (forms), self-defense and the fundamentals of Jiyu Kumite (free sparring).

Women’s Lacrosse Club competes intercollegiately at the club level. We have a short fall preseason and a full spring schedule, usually including one tournament. Newcomers are welcome; dedication is necessary.

Women’s Rugby Team started at BU in 1991. Experience is not necessary; spirited approach is essential.

Women’s Ultimate Frisbee Team Are you looking to travel? Tone the body? Challenge the mind? Ultimate Frisbee does it all. Check out this off-the-mainstream, aggressive sport. The team offers an alternative to the varsity sport scene and is made up of energetic, fun-loving and bizarre players. No experience is necessary.
