Everyone will enjoy the classic children’s story, “Hansel and Gretel”, by the Brothers Grimm, set to music by Engelbert Humperdinck. It has become one of the most popular fairy-tale operas of all times. Our own one-act, fully staged, holiday-season adaptation will be sung in English by the Binghamton University Opera Workshop at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, in the AC-Chamber Hall. The opera is sponsored by the Binghamton University Music Department with sets and costumes by Tri-Cities Opera. Tickets are $9 general public, $6 faculty/staff/seniors and $3 for students and are available at the Anderson Center Box Office from noon-5:30 p.m. weekdays, by calling 607-777-ARTS, online at http://anderson.binghamton.edu or at the door.
