Binghamton University’s Nukporfe African Dance and Drumming Ensemble, directed by Associate Professor James Burns, will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, in FA-Watters Theater. The presentation will include African music performed by a full ensemble of drummers and dancers. African dance-drumming typically juxtaposes several art forms together including storytelling, pantomime, oral history and community wisdom. It is an excellent way to introduce authentic African culture to anyone who may have little understanding of modern Africa. Tickets are $3 per person and can be purchased at the door.
