Soprano Mary Burgess and pianist Benton Hess present a feast of songs from the lush to the languid in the late Romantic repertory as they present “Romantic Revels” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, in the AC-Chamber Hall. Join these two old friends as they explore songs – some familiar, some not – by Reynaldo Hahn, Joseph Marx, Amy Beach, and others, with perhaps a few surprises along the way. Burgess has been a member of the music faculty at Binghamton University since 1984 where she is associate professor of voice and coordinator of vocal programs. In the U.S., she has performed at New York City Opera, Santa Fe Opera, New Orleans Opera, Washington Opera, Nevada Opera, and many other regional companies including Tri Cities Opera.
