University Day at the Mall set for Saturday
TweetThe fourth-annual Binghamton University Day at the Oakdale Mall will feature performances by student groups, hands-on craft projects, science demonstrations, free health screenings and more.
The event, which will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Center Court in front of the Bon Ton, is designed to offer area residents a glimpse of the many services, programs and entertainment options available on campus.
Activities will include opportunities to plant vegetables or make a paper snake as well as carnival games designed by engineering students. Admissions officers and the Small Business Development Center will be on hand to answer questions. Student researchers will present their findings, nursing students will offer blood-pressure screenings and there will be raffle prizes.
The performance schedule includes science demonstrations at 11 and 11:50 a.m. and 12:50 and 1:40 p.m.; a Japanese sword-fighting performance at 12:20 p.m.; African dance and drumming at 11:20 a.m.; a tae kwon do demonstration at 1:20 p.m.; and an Indian dance group at 2:40 p.m.
