EOP director appointed to admissions postTweet
Executive Vice President and Provost Donald Nieman announced on Aug. 27 that Randall Edouard, director of the Educational Opportunity Program, will serve as interim assistant vice provost and director of admissions for the next two years.
“Randall is a perfect person to step into this recently vacated role,” Nieman said. “He is highly respected on campus and will provide the outstanding leadership we need as we enter into the final two years of enrollment growth under our NYSUNY 2020 plan.”
Edouard hopes to move admissions toward premier through teamwork and capitalizing on the people in the department. “What that takes is maximizing all of the talent and wonderful human resources that we have at our disposal,” he said. “People power is big to me and in order to take advantage of people power, it’s important for people to feel good about themselves and be appreciated for the critical work that they’re doing for our institution.
“Often in these tough jobs, we forget about the people and the power of the people,” he added. “I want to re-energize that power.”
Edouard, who has been the director of EOP for the past four years, received his bachelor’s degree in English and psychology and his master’s degree in educational administration from Hofstra University. He begins his new duties Sept. 1.
