‘Miracle on the Hudson’ flight attendant to speak Oct. 28
TweetSheila Dail, a US Airways flight attendant who helped evacuate passengers on Flight 1549 when it crash-landed in the Hudson River, will speak at the Binghamton University Forum at noon Oct. 28, at Traditions at the Glen, in Johnson City.
The plane was bound for Charlotte, N.C., on Jan. 15, 2009, when it struck a flock of birds on takeoff from LaGuardia Airport. Pilot Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger maneuvered the jet over New York City and landed in the water. Dail and her two fellow flight attendants, with more than 92 years of professional experience among them, assisted passengers onto the wing or into rescue boats.
In her talk, “What a Difference a Day Makes,” Dail will share her Flight 1549 experience and the effect the “Miracle on the Hudson” has had on her life.
A luncheon buffet will be available at noon and Dail’s talk will begin at 12:30 p.m. Forum members can call 777-4390 or e-mail .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) to register.
