For the eighth consecutive year, the Binghamton men’s soccer program has earned Team Academic Honors from the NSCAA. During the 2009-10 academic year, the Bearcats posted a 3.12 overall GPA. Binghamton was one of 194 men’s soccer programs across all three NCAA division levels to attain at least the minimum GPA (3.0) required to earn Team Academic honors.
“I’m proud of our guys achievements,” head coach Paul Marco said. “They continue to get it done on the field and in the classroom. Their commitment to excellence is easy to see and a pleasure to work with.”
Binghamton was also one of 130 Division I schools to have both their women’s and men’s programs honored for their academic achievement. The women’s squad attained a 3.15 GPA.
“Our women’s soccer program continues to achieve in the classroom; the NSCAA team Academic Award is a great testament to the hard work and dedication of our student-athletes,” head coach Sarah McClellan said. “It’s a great honor and well-deserving for our team as we strive to be our best in the classroom, on the field and in the community.”
