Senior Erik van Ingen placed eighth overall in the men’s race, highlighting the Binghamton cross country teams’ performance at the Lehigh Paul Short Run on Oct. 1. In the team standings, the Bearcats were 10th out of 42 teams in the men’s race and 29th out of 41 squads in the women’s competition.
One year after placing 15th in the event, van Ingen cracked the top 10 in the meet for the first time in his career. His time for the 8,000-meter course was 24:04. There were 387 runners in the men’s meet.
Sophomore Jeff Martinez was Binghamton’s second runner, placing 48th overall (24:52). Seniors Casey Qualglia and Adam Quinn were 74th and 87th with times of 25:05 and 25:08 respectively. Graduate student Chris Gaube was 118th (25:18).
On the women’s side, sophomore Lindsay Raulli was Binghamton’s top finisher, placing 85th out of 350 runners with a 6K time of 22:01. Fellow sophomore Rachel Miura was 95th (22:07).
