Do not respond to bogus request| May 7, 2013
An e-mail has been received by a number of campus faculty and staff claiming to be from the Binghamton University Email Service Team, asking recipients to click on a URL to upgrade their accounts. This is a phishing scam and recipients should delete the message without replying or clicking on the link. Phishing scams such as this one can allow unscrupulous persons to gain access to personal or computer account information and launch spam or hacking attacks on others in the Internet community. The account owner is usually not aware of this improper use. If you have doubts about requests to send sensitive information via e-mail or web page, don not reply! Consult the
University policy on Internet privacy for details or contact the Help Desk at 777-6420 if you have specific questions.
New log-in page/features for SUNY Online Time and Attendance| May 6, 2013
Important notice for all faculty, MC and professional employees, but this does not pertain to hourly professionals employees. The online Time and Attendance System is now accessed
through a new log-in page.
Employees will see a different screen upon signing into the time and attendance system. The new screen will offer the current functionality of online time and attendance as well as some new features.To find out more, visit the

State employees update legal address online| May 6, 2013
Human Resources and Payroll announce new SUNY system self-service. All active employees will be able to report legal address changes to HR and Payroll online. Employees will also be able to view and print check stubs the Monday before pay day. Individuals will still receive a paper check stub. All employees will be able to access the new features using their Binghamton PODS username and password
through the SUNY portal. The first time you sign in you will need your unique SUNY ID (provided by HR) to pass through the security verification screen. To find out more, visit the

Reminder from EH & S to evacuate buildings when alarms sound| May 3, 2013
During the months of May, June and July, emergency evacuation drills will be ongoing on campus. All occupants of a building must evacuate when the building alarms are sounding. Correction of code violations found by the Office of Fire Prevention and Control during their inspection of campus will also be ongoing. If you have a concern about safety and code compliance, the following websites are a great source of information:

Engineering Building floor installations begin May 6| May 3, 2013
Terrazzo flooring will be installed in the M-Pod and third-floor renovation area of the Engineering Building beginning Monday, May 6, and continuing until the end of May. There is some odor associated with placement of the terrazzo mixture.

Submit outstanding fall/summer course book orders| May 2, 2013
The University Bookstore asks faculty to submit any outstanding fall or summer course book order as soon as possible. To date, 32 percent of the book orders have been received. Students will start selling the Bookstore their books during the next two weeks and the Bookstore pays more for books that will be used in the summer and fall. Help the Bookstore help students by paying them more for their books by sending in your order today.

Archaeology Summer Camps| April 30, 2013
The Binghamton University Community Archaeology Program (CAP) announces three archaeology summer camps: Kids (10-12), Teens (13-17) and Adults. Dates are July 15-19 (9 a.m.-4 p.m.). Participants will learn about Susquehanna Valley archaeology, assist archaeologists with the excavation of a local research site, and experience the preservation of local heritage. Archaeologists from the Public Archaeology Facility at Binghamton University will provide instruction in basic archaeological and lab techniques. Supervised excavations will be based at the 4,000-year-old Boland Campville prehistoric site on the Susquehanna River within the Town of Owego.
Cost is $175 for the Adult and Teen programs, $169 for the Kids program. Two scholarships are available (teacher recommendation needed).
