A transportation and parking study is underway, and campus input is very important.
Increasing enrollment, satellite campuses, expanded on-campus housing and new academic buildings are prompting a close look at Binghamton University's transportation and parking needs. With safety as a primary consideration, Nelson/Nygaard Consulting Associates has been hired to help the campus gather input and make recommendations for how vehicles should be able to navigate on campus, mass transit and how to best utilize space for parking.

Enjoy two holiday concerts Dec. 12| December 5, 2013
The Binghamton University Music Department will burst with holiday festivities Thursday, Dec. 12, with the Holiday Mid-Day Concert at 1:20 p.m. in Casadesus Recital Hall and the Harpur Chorale and Women’s Chorus Holiday Concert at 8 p.m. at Trinity Memorial Church (44 Main Street, Binghamton). Get into the holiday spirit with iconic jingles, booming voices and much more!
The Mid-Day concert will feature Binghamton University faculty and student performers showcasing a variety of holiday music classics. This concert is free and open to the public. A reception will follow.
The Harpur Chorale, directed by Peter Browne featuring organist Daniel Rosenau, and the Women’s Chorus, directed by Associate Professor Bruce Borton and graduate student Thom Baker, featuring Georgetta Maiolo, flute, and Emily Goetz, marimba, will perform a holiday choral concert that evening. Their program will include “O Magnum Mysterium” by Ned Rorem, “African Noel” by Andre Thomas, “Hanukkah Blessings” by Ron Jeffers, “Winter Cantata” by Vincent Persichetti, “Le sommeil de l’enfant Jesus” a traditional French carol arranged by Ron Jeffers, “Epiphany Alleluias” by John Weaver and much more! This concert is free (but a good-will offering will be received at the door) and open to the public.

Nominations sought for Leadership Development Program| December 4, 2013
Nominations are currently being accepted for the Leadership Development Program for Supervisors at Binghamton University, Class of Spring 2014. Programs will be presented for supervisory employees once a semester and will consist of two classes, with each class composed of 20 nominated participants. Nominations can be made by supervisors, or employees can self-nominate.

2014 health insurance rates announced| December 3, 2013
The effective date for health insurance changes is Jan. 2, 2014. The first paycheck to be affected by the new rates will be Dec. 31, 2013. Employees must submit their changes to the Office of Human Resources no later than Dec. 31. No action is required if you are retaining the same health plan for 2014.
