Longtime Campus Pre-School teacher Jane Suk Stuart-Andrus dies| April 7, 2014
Jane Suk Stuart-Andrus died Saturday, April 5. She received her master’s degree in education from SUNY New Paltz and was a kindergarten teacher and educator for nearly 45 years, including 39 years at Binghamton University’s Campus Pre-School & Early Childhood Center. She also held adjunct positions teaching and supervising Binghamton University students in classroom settings.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Richard Andrus, two daughters and two stepsons and their families, including three grandchildren, a sister and brother-in-law and many extended family members.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at the McDevitt & McManus Funeral Home Inc., 88 Front St., Binghamton. In lieu of flowers, the family has established a memorial scholarship to benefit Binghamton University master's students majoring in early childhood education. Baxter voted New York’s favorite college mascot in SUNY Mascot Madness 2014!| April 7, 2014
Through hundreds of thousands of online votes, Baxter has been crowned champion of the highly contested SUNY Mascot Madness 2014, just slightly beating The College at Brockport‘s Ellsworth Eagle in the final round of the bracket-style competition. Baxter collected 27,481 points by way of online votes and social media bonus points, winning by just over 1 percent.
SUNY New Paltz’s Hugo the Hawk will hand over the coveted SUNY Mascot Madness Cup to Baxter and Binghamton University this spring.

The board is responsible for ensuring the smooth and successful operation of the preschool, and determining its overall direction, developing policies, establishing priorities, allocating resources, monitoring finances and overseeing the administration of the preschool.

Flu season not over yet, students may request accommodations| April 4, 2014
The Decker Student Health Services Center (DSHSC) continues to see students exhibiting flu-like symptoms. Faculty are reminded that the flu season is not yet over and to do their best to accommodate students who are suffering from flu symptoms, which can include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headaches, chills and fatigue. Some people also may have vomiting and diarrhea. People may be infected with the flu, and have respiratory symptoms without a fever.

Nominations sought for Diversity Fellowship| April 3, 2014
The Division of Administration announced a two-year diversity fellowship that offers the opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of University business administration functions and the chance to promote diversity and inclusion division wide. The program runs from June 2014 to May 2016 and concludes with an offer of regular, full-time employment within the division.
Nominations from the University community are welcome for the fellowship and should be submitted to Joseph Schultz

Road Map proposals to be reviewed on rolling basis| March 31, 2014
Some flexibility has been built into the timeline for submitting Road Map proposals for funding for the 2015-16 academic year. The original deadline of Monday, April 7 has been extended to Thursday, May 1. Proposals will be reviewed and assigned to vice presidents on a rolling basis as they come in and until May 1. Those wishing to submit proposals are encouraged to do so as early in the process as possible. Proposals are to be submitted online
