The 2nd Hispanic Film Festival concludes at 7 p.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 14, in LH-4, with the screening of Aquí y Allá (Here and There), a 2012 drama film directed by Antonio Méndez Esparza. After years of working in New York, Pedro returns home to a small mountain village in Guerrero, Mexico. He finds his daughters older and more distant than he imagined. The villagers think this year’s crop will be bountiful, but the locals are wise to a life of insecurity. Their thoughts are often of family members or opportunities far away, north of the border. The film will be featured in Spanish with English subtitles. Admission is free. This event is sponsored by the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures and Harpur College Dean's Office. More information on the films and the festival can be found online.
