This one-day intensive, hands-on workshop includes a session on basic X-ray reading and one on suturing, and will be held from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, May 4, in LH-7. The first session, “Seeing Life in Black and White - Basic Xray Reading,” will be taught by Dr. Stephen Dominic Gomez, MD, board certified in emergency medicine with 26 years of experience and practice. The second session, “A Cut Above: Keeping you in stitches,” will be taught by Cynthia Durham BSN, MSN, ANPC, RNFA, who has 30 years of experience as a surgical nurse practitioner and has been teaching suturing workshops at local, regional and national conferences for over 20 years.
The course fee is $60 for Binghamton University students and $120 for others. The fee Includes a suturing kit (instruments, suture material & foam board) and coffee. Lunch is on your own. There are 6.16 contact hours available for attendance at the teaching day (with submission of completed evaluations).
