Binghamton University Symphony Orchestra: Opera without Words Concert

The Binghamton University Symphony Orchestra, directed by Professor Timothy Perry, will perform an “Opera without Words” concert at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 in the AC-Osterhout Concert Theater. Prior to each piece performed, Maestro Perry will give a brief comment on its history and use, with illustrations and historical quotations. The program will include Mozart’s “Marriage of Figaro”, a classic intermezzo from Mascagni’s “Cavalliera Rusticana”, ballet music from Tschaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin”, a stage spectacular from Saint-Saëns’ “The Bacchanale from Samson and Dalilah” and more! Tickets are $7 for the general public, $5 for seniors and Binghamton University faculty and staff, and free for students and are available at the Anderson Center Box Office from noon-5:30 p.m. weekdays, by calling 607-777-ARTS, going online or at the door.
