Cemetery hike through history Friday evening
October 15, 2013Tweet
The rich and sometimes tragic 150-year history of the city of Binghamton can be found among the tombstones of our local cemeteries. Broome County historian Gerry Smith — dressed in period garb — will be our guide on this hike from 4:30-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18. His knowledge is sure to astound! Among the 12,000 buried in Binghamton’s cemeteries are its founding mothers and fathers, local heroes, the prominent and not so prominent, and those whose names have been lost. Space is limited on this popular walk. Sign up by Wednesday, Oct. 16 at the Outdoor Pursuits office, Rec Center, EG-10. Registration is $15. For more information, go online.
