Former UN and White House official to visit campus today

Binghamton University will host Eric Schwartz '79 - a public policy expert and former White House and United Nations advisor - for an event from 7-8:30 p.m. today, Monday, March 18, in the Anderson Center’s Chamber Hall on Monday, March 18. Schwartz will speak about world politics, and will take questions from the audience. A reception will follow. The event is free and open to the public.

During his 25-year career in public service, he has been U.S. assistant secretary of state for population, refugees and migration; UN deputy special envoy for tsunami recovery; and senior director and special assistant to the president for multilateral and humanitarian affairs. In 2011, he was named dean of the Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Policy at the University of Minnesota. This event is co-sponsored by Dorm Room Diplomacy, the Binghamton University Alumni Association and the Department of Political Science.
