TweetKumbamu is assistant professor of biomedical ethics at The Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn. His research interests include bioethics, science and technology studies, and environmental sociology. His articles have appeared in Development, International Social Science Journal, Community Development Journal, and Capitalism Nature Socialism. The lecture is sponsored by the Fernand Braudel Center for the Study of Economies, Historical Systems and Civilizations, the Harpur College Dean as part of it's Dean's Speaker Series, and the Working Group on Commodity Frontiers & World-Ecology of the Fernand Braudel Center.
