Binghamton University will celebrate research with a series of events on March 26-28. Faculty members, academic departments and programs, and student groups are invited to plan events related to research. This year, organizers have chosen to focus on ethics as a theme. Jonathan D. Moreno, the David and Lyn Silfen University Professor of Ethics at the University of Pennsylvania, will give a keynote address at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, in the Mandela Room. Also a professor of medical ethics and health policy, of history and sociology of science, and of philosophy, he specializes in the intersection of bioethics, culture, science and national security. He is also a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress in Washington, D.C. His most recent book is Mind Wars: Brain Science and the Military in the 21st Century. The schedule will include poster sessionsat 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday, March 28, in the Mandela Room. Faculty members are encouraged to take several minutes during class on one of those days to introduce themselves as scholars. For additional information, go online.
