The Public Archaeology Facility (PAF) at Binghamton University will launch its collaborative Little Italy (Endicott) Historic Walking Tour from 5-9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2013 during the Village of Endicott’s GUSTO Festival. The Italian heritage tour of Endicott’s North Side will feature seven properties: the North Side Fire Station (Jax Sign Shop), 108 Odell Ave.; the Concordia (Little Italy Endicott Heritage Center and Museum), 109 Odell Ave.; the Sons of Italy Duca degli Abruzze Lodge, 126 Odell Ave.; St. Anthony’s of Padua Church, 906 Jenkins St.; the former Beacon’s Inn 127-129 Oak Hill Ave.; the Carousel in North Side Park, 201 Oak Hill Ave.; and the Stage at Little Italy, 201 Oak Hill Ave.
The free tour is available for use with smartphones or with a printed brochure. Look for the Public Archaeology Facility table at the festival. Members of PAF, Greater Binghamton UNICO, and the Little Italy Endicott Heritage Center and Museum will be on hand to provide information on taking the tour.
