What is the new legal and financial landscape for LGBTQ individuals and families? Ask the experts! Two free workshops – co-sponsored by the Lesbian and Gay Family Building Project, which is now located in LN-1105 and working with Binghamton University's Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies program – will take place from 6-8 p.m. today, Oct. 23, and Nov. 13 at Temple Concord, 9 Riverside Drive, Binghamton. The topic of tonight’s workshop is “After DOMA Part I: Legal Information for LGBTQ Individuals and Families.” Members of Cornell Law School’s Advocacy for LGBT Communities Clinic will discuss the current status of the federal Defense of Marriage Act and how the Supreme Court ruling affects LGBTQ people and their families. The second workshop will focus on “After DOMA Part II: Financial Information for LGBTQs.” Light dinner provided. RSVPs requested to Karen Moroski at 607-777-3717.
