Celebrate the work of Binghamton University’s PricewaterhouseCoopers Scholars (PwC) at the Walnut Street Park (on the West Side of Binghamton) at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 30. The scholars will celebrate the completed installation of a toddler jungle gym with the entire neighborhood. The event will feature music, face-painting, arts and crafts, games, and of course new playground equipment. There will also be hot dogs, pizza, refreshments and ice cream. More than 150 volunteers took part in the park project, which included construction of a toddler jungle gym, flower-planting, painting and ground cleanup. The scholars raised more than $20,000 throughout the semester. A portion of the proceeds was used to purchase a jungle gym and a swing set, as well as some additional items to spruce up the park.
The PricewaterhouseCoopers Scholars program is an honors program within Binghamton University’s School of Management. The program has about 140 members who excel in academics, leadership, and professionalism. Program members participate in a variety of activities throughout the year, including various community service projects such as this one.
