Three ‘Bs’ Concert: Beethoven, Brahams and Bolcom
Tweet
Enjoy an afternoon with violinist Janey Choi and pianist Michael Salmirs as they present the “Three ‘Bs’ Concert” at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 17, in the AC-Chamber Hall. In a program of classics with a twist, the Choi-Salmirs duo present two established dramatic sonata masterworks by Beethoven and Brahms, sandwiching a lesser-known modern sonata by esteemed living composer, William Bolcom.
The Bolcom Sonata No. 2 has a definitely modern, yet accessible flavor, with movements marked “Brutal,” “Fast,” and “Summer Dreams” and a finale that owes its inspiration to jazz legend Joe Venuti. Tickets for the concert are $9 general public, $6 faculty/staff/seniors and $3 for students and are available at the Anderson Center Box Office from noon-5:30 p.m. weekdays, by calling 607-777-ARTS, online at http://anderson.binghamton.edu or at the door.
