All international students on F-1 and J-1 visas are mandated to to be covered under the SUNY international insurance program.
When you were admitted to Binghamton University, you were asked to document proof of funding. In the amount requested, the cost of this insurance was included. Based on the information that you provided to our office, we prepared your I-20/Ds-2019 in order for you to apply for your student visa.
In order to be waived from this policy you will need to show proof of having comparable coverage. Your insurance will need to offer the following benefits:
- pre-existingconditions
- maternity (as a normal condition in order
to be in compliance with U.S. regulations not to show discrimination)
- medical evacuation and repatriation
- $0 deductible per illness
- $200,000 maximum reimbursement rate per illness.
