Editor’s Note: Saturday, July 4 is Independence Day in the United States.  Many University offices are not observing the holiday, since it falls on a Saturday this year.  International Student and Scholar Services will be open for regular business hours on both Friday, July 3 and Monday, July 6. Banks and post be closed on Saturday.

2. Don’t Reply to E-mail Requests for Personal Information

Computing Services reminds the campus that Binghamton University and other reputable institutions will never ask you for sensitive information in an e-mail message. Requests for your username, password, identifying information or money are not legitimate. Delete the message and do not reply.

3. OCCT Transport Schedule Between Summer Sessions

Friday, June 26 was the last day of OCC Transport service for Summer Session I. Service will resume Monday, July 6 with the OCCT normal schedule. The ITC van will still be in service during the break from 9am to 5pm, Monday the 29th through Friday the 3rd.  For more information, visit the OCCT website at http://www.occtransport.com/

4. Your Student Bill for Fall 2009

Student bills are generated for the Fall 2009 semester unless there is a course registration record created first.  So if you advance registered for the Fall 2009 semester, you can expect to receive an email announcement of your student bill sent to your Binghamton.edu account and see your student bill posted at http://bubrain.binghamton.edu beginning in mid July. Please visit the Student Accounts home page, http://www.binghamton.edu/studentaccounts for additional information.  Also review the payment information at:
http://www.binghamton.edu/studentaccounts/paypro.htm

Note that student bill notifications are sent electronically to your BU e-mail address, student bills are not mailed.
                       
Students who hold tuition scholarships are reminded that still responsible for student fees.

When viewing the rate table, remember to add the mandatory $60/semester International Student Administrative Fee (if you are in F or J status), and the International Student Heath Insurance Fee of $414.50.

5. Are You a J-1 Student?  Are You Working On-Campus This Summer or in the Fall?

If you are an international student in J-1 status, the Office of International Student and Scholar Services would like to remind you that all on-campus employment for J-1s must be authorized in advance by your J-1 sponsor.  The sponsor is the agency or institution listed in item 2 of the DS-2019.  If your program sponsor is Binghamton University, the ISSS makes it easy for you to fulfill your employment authorization responsibilities by having an internet link where you may request the required authorization letter.  Just go to:
