All graduate students need to register for International Student Orientation:The “New Student Fee” that will be included on your student bill, supports services and events for new students including:
The New Student Fee is charged to all graduate students in their initial semester. The New Student Fee for graduate students and graduate exchange students is $110. Your student bill is issued after you register for courses.
REGISTER FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ORIENTATION:
The link above will take you to the on-line VZ Orientation Registration form. To register for Orientation you will need to know your B number. If you do not know your B number, go to http://www2.binghamton.edu/self-service. On this webpage, click on the text box, “BU Brain Log In”, you will need your BU user id and password to access your B number.
We suggest you print out this page so you have it for reference while you register for Orientation.
Follow these steps to arrange your registration for Orientation:
MEALS DURING ORIENTATION:
To pay for the meals during International Student Orientation, on Thursday, August 15th and Friday, August 16th, you can pay cash or purchase a Meal Plan. When you have purchased a Meal Plan, your Meal Plan is coded on your Binghamton University ID card. At the dining hall, you will need your Binghamton University ID card when you go to the cash registers. If you have not yet purchased a Meal Plan you can arrange one when you arrive at Binghamton University. If you do not have a Meal Plan you can pay for your meals with US dollars or a US credit card.
Please note: If you have family members or friends coming to Orientation with you, they will need to pay for their meals with US dollars or a US credit card. You need to tell us ahead of time if your guests will be attending the meals on Thursday, August 15th and Friday, August 16th, with you. Please send an email to Katie Barvinchak at firstname.lastname@example.org and tell Katie the number of guests who will accompany you.

International Student Welcome Dinner:
All new students (graduate and undergraduates) attending the International Student Orientation Programs are invited to attend the International Student Welcome Dinner on Monday, August 19, 2013 at 6:00pm. The student cost for the Welcome Dinner is covered by the New Student Fee. The guest cost of the International Student Welcome Dinner is $25.00 for each guest.
ARE FAMILY MEMBERS OR FRIENDS TRAVELING WITH YOU?
Housing for family or friends traveling with you can be reserved at one of the hotels near campus. At this link you will find a complete list of hotels serving the Binghamton area: http://www2.binghamton.edu/visiting-campus/lodging.html Reservations at local hotels need to be made early as many new students and their families will be staying at local hotels during the Orientation period.
If you are driving to campus, you will need to follow the parking policies of Binghamton University. On the first day of Orientation, (Thursday, August 15th), we will provide you with a parking pass if you e-mail Katie Barvinchak, International Student Advisor, by Monday, August 12th. To park on-campus after Thursday, August 15th, 2013 you will need to register your vehicle and purchase a Student Parking Pass from Parking Services. During International Student Orientation you will find Parking Services located on the ground floor of the Couper Administration Building. http://parking.binghamton.edu/
