8:30am Orientation Program Check-in All Students Must Attend
University Union Old Union Hall
Register for orientation, obtain schedule of events, purchase a mobile phone and open a bank account. Parent and family members accompanying you can also check-in at this time. You may check-in anytime between 8:30am and 1:00pm.

9:00am Check-in with Decker Student Health Services Center (You may check into the Health Services Center anytime between 9:00am and 2:00pm).

Patricia Marrapese, Director of International Student and Scholar Services, Karen Keefe-Guzikowski, Associate Director, and Shawna Szabo, Assistant Director, will explain the rules for maintaining legal status in the U.S., SEVIS responsibilities, the rules governing on and off campus employment and US Income Tax requirements for International Students.

8:30am Bureaucratic Essentials- All Students Must Attend
University Union Old Union Hall
(Be sure to bring your immigration documents, passport and green New Student Data Form to this event!)
This event is continuous until 1:30pm. Plan on being at this event for at least 1.5 hours.

International Student and Scholar Services: Your passport and visa documents will be examined to be sure that all of your papers are in good order. The ISSS will sign page 3 of your I-20 form or page 1 of your DS-2019 form to verify your enrollment. The green, New Student Data Form will be collected. Be sure you have completed both sides of the form. Your passport and visa documents will be photocopied.
Health Insurance: A representative from the SUNY International Student Health and Accident Insurance Program will be available to answer questions.
Graduate Student Employees Union: A representative of the GSEU will provide information.

9:00am Check-in with Decker Student Health Services Center (You may check into the Health Services Center anytime between 9:00am and 2:00pm)

If you did not check-in with Decker Student Health Services Center on Monday or Tuesday, you are required to check in with staff from Decker Student Health Services Center, today. If you have not yet submitted your Health Form, please bring it so it can be reviewed.

1:00pm-3:00pm English Proficiency Examination (ESL)

New graduate students who are conditionally admitted to Binghamton University are required to take a short English language proficiency examination during Orientation. NO EXCEPTIONS!

If you have any questions regarding the examination or ESL Courses, please consult with Ms. Jennifer Brondell, Director of the English as a Second Language Program, located on the second floor of the Bartle Library, Room 2412, telephone (607) 777-6725 or email brondell@binghamton.edu.
