The link above will take you to the on-line VZ Orientation Registration form. To register for Orientation you will need to know your B number. If you do not know your B number, go to On this webpage, click on the text box, “BU Brain Log In”, you will need your BU user ID and password to access your B number.

We suggest you print out this page so you have it for reference when you register for Orientation.

Your parents or guests are welcome to attend the first day of Orientation with you. You do not need to register them online. When you arrive at Check In, your guests will receive a program for the day and they are welcome to participate in the special events planned for students' families or guests.

Housing for family or friends traveling with you can be reserved at one of the hotels near campus. Reservations at local hotels need to be made early because many new students and their families will be staying at local hotels during the Orientation period.

Meals during International Student Orientation, January 23 – January 25, 2013:

Students who live off-campus and have not purchased a meal plan may purchase meals with cash.
On Wednesday, January 23, starting with lunch, you will eat lunch and dinner in the University Union, Mandela Room. On Thursday, you will eat breakfast and lunch in C4 Dining Hall. The Welcome Dinner on Thursday evening is in University Union, Old Union Hall. Your meals on Friday will be in your residence area dining hall.

The Meal Plan you will use throughout the academic year will cover the cost of your on-campus meals after Orientation, beginning with dinner on Friday, January 25. Dinner will be served in the Dining Halls. For more information about choosing a Sodexo Meal Plan visit the Dining Services website:

If family members or guests are attending the first day of Orientation with you, you can arrange a ticket to the Welcome Dinner for each of them. The ticket to the Welcome Dinner will cost $20.00 for each guest.

To arrange a Welcome Dinner ticket for each of your guests you need to email Karen Keefe-Guzikowski, Associate Director at the ISSS, at by Thursday, January 17, 2013 and tell her how many guests you will be bringing to the Welcome Dinner. You will pay for your guest's Welcome Dinner ticket at the Welcome Dinner.

If you are driving to campus, you will need to follow Binghamton University's parking policies. On the first day of Orientation we will provide you with a parking pass if you let Karen Keefe-Guzikowski (Associate Director at ISSS), know by Thursday, January 17, that you will need a parking pass for Wednesday, January 23, 2013. To park on-campus after Wednesday, January 23, 2013 you will need to make arrangements with Parking Services located on the ground floor of the Couper Administration Building. Freshman students are not allowed to have cars on-campus.
