The Interpersonal Violence Prevention program, which is housed in the Decker Student Health Services, serves Binghamton students who have experienced sexual violence, dating or relationship violence, bullying or stalking. Professional staff provide academic, legal, medical and housing advocacy for survivors around issues of sexual assault, bullying, stalking and relationship violence (emotional, physical and sexual). The Interpersonal Violence Prevention Coordinator (IVPC) and members of the IVP team, the Counseling Center, resident directors, University Police, Decker Student Health Services Center and the Crime Victim’s Assistance Center can help you navigate Binghamton University after experiencing any of these or other forms of interpersonal violence. Staff from Interpersonal Violence Prevention can provide informative programs on issues of sexual violence, domestic violence, stalking and bullying for University students, faculty and staff. Upon request, Interpersonal Violence Prevention staff, 20:1 participants, and University Police personnel can provide presentations to residence halls; resident assistants; resident directors; first-year experience classes; and any other group, organization or class interested in learning about sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking, bullying and what constitutes “consent.” Presentations are informative and interactive.
