The Judaic Studies Program

The Judaic Studies Department at Binghamton University offers all undergraduate students the opportunity to explore and gain an interdisciplinary perspective on over three millennia of Jewish culture, Jewish social, political and economic history, Jewish literature, modern and postmodern Jewish thought as well as on Israel.

The department's teaching and affiliated faculty includes scholars from the humanities and the social sciences and the undergraduate curriculum covers a wide array of courses including courses in modern Hebrew, Yiddish, and Israeli literature.

Students completing a Judaic Studies major will have a versatile liberal arts degree that prepares them well for a variety of paths, among them professional, graduate, and Jewish communal service.
