Circulation - Overnight Assistant (Graduate) - Spring, 2015

This position DOES NOT require Federal Work Study funding


  • Assist patrons in locating and checking out library material.
  • Process requests for Interlibrary Loan by retrieving books from the stacks and scanning chapters as needed.
  • Supervise undergraduate student assistants.
  • Monitor patrons' use of the library and its resources; report any problems with facilities or patrons to supervisor.
  • Provide service for copier and BookEye scanners.
  • Open and/or close library as needed.

Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer-service skills. Good organizational, time management and problem-solving skills as well as initiative, good judgment and discretion. Reliability and punctuality are essential.

Hours: Must be available to work approximately 20-27 hours per week. Overnight shifts are Sunday through Thursday, 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., shared with two other graduate students. Position will include weekend hours. Applicant must be available to train beginning January 12, 2015.
