Library Assistant (Graduate) - Spring, 2015

This position DOES NOT require Federal Work Study funding


  • Provide excellent service to patrons at the circulation desk: answer questions, make referrals, and locate and check out library material.
  • Process requests for Interlibrary Loan by retrieving books from the stacks and scanning chapters as needed.
  • Supervise undergraduate student assistants.
  • Adhere to and enforce the Libraries' policies.
  • Monitor patrons' use of the library and its resources. Report any problems with facilities or patrons to supervisor.
  • Provide service for copier and BookEye scanners.
  • Open and close library as needed.

Skills: Flexibility in work schedule. Enthusiasm and motivation to successfully complete work schedule and program commitments.

Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week. Overnight shifts, 11p.m. - 7a.m., during spring semester 2015. Possibility of employment for evening and weekend hours, 2015 summer sessions.
