James Young, professor emeritus, dies
James P. Young, professor emeritus of political science, died April 7, 2013, at the University of Michigan Hospital of pneumonia and other complications. He earned his bachelor’s, master’s and PhD degrees in political science from the University of Michigan. He retired from Binghamton University in 1995, after teaching here for 34 years. Young was the author of three books and editor of another on American political theory. He also authored many journal reviews and articles.
Young is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gladys, one son and daughter-in-law, one daughter and son-in-law, four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
