New home for Harpur monument

The Harpur College monument is now part of the new Harpur Quad, which is bordered by the library tower, Science 1 and the Anderson Center.
It’s hard to miss a 30-foot tall stone monolith, but as traffic grew busier and the surrounding trees got taller, this monument to Harpur College was becoming lost in the crowd. A decision was made to move it to a more prominent place in the new Harpur Quad.
How do you move a 40-ton piece of stone? One inch at a time.
