Binghamton is capable of even greater success

In the few short months that I’ve been president of Binghamton University, I’ve been working hard to get to know the campus and everyone connected to it. I’ve met faculty, staff, students and administrators, as well as legislators, business and community leaders, donors and alumni. It has been enlightening, to say the least.

What I’ve learned is that Binghamton has earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence. Everywhere I turn, I see people striving to be the best and carrying Binghamton’s success stories around the world.

As I continue learning from supporters about Binghamton University as it was in the past and is now, I am also looking forward. My immediate goals include development of a road map focused on enriching academic excellence, strengthening our development program in support of our key priorities and further engaging our local and regional communities in the University’s mission. A successful ending to Bold.Brilliant.Binghamton — The Campaign for Binghamton University will play a critical role in helping us meet our ambitious objectives.

As the father of two daughters who have already graduated from college, I now have 15,000 students whom I will think of as my sons and daughters — and more than 106,000 alumni “siblings” who are already changing our world.

I could not have chosen a better place, and I want my presidency to reflect Binghamton’s best qualities. Working with everyone, I know we will have a productive and promising future, and we will make Binghamton University one of the leading universities in the nation.
