Ancient Egypt course was a highlight

I read with great interest your piece on Prof. Gerald Kadish’s retirement. His Ancient Egyptian History course was one of the highlights of my time at Binghamton in the late 1990s. His course was engaging and compelling.

I spent many a summer as a child scouring the Egyptian wing of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, and nights dreaming of visiting the wonders of ancient Egypt myself. I still haven’t made that trip, but his course added a depth of understanding and appreciation for that period of history that hasn’t faded.

I wish him all the best in his retirement!

PS: I chuckled at his comments on chemistry not being for him; my Binghamton degree is in chemistry, but my career has led me elsewhere.
