Future Plans:
Obtain this masters degree, and eventually continue on to pursue my doctorate degree in communications with a concentration in media studies.

Why a PhD:
More and more women, particularly women of color, are needed in higher levels of academia. I want to be one who contributes to research on the relationship of media to the complex social and cultural institutions of society.
