SUNY BEST presents “Emerging Trends for New York State’s Workforce Development Efforts”
BINGHAMTON, NY -- The SUNY Business and Education Cooperative of the Southern Tier (SUNY BEST) will host John Twomey, who will present “Emerging Trends for New York State’s Workforce Development Efforts” at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 2, at the Binghamton University Downtown Center. Pre-registration is required.
Twomey, executive director of the New York Association of Training and Employment Professionals (NYATEP), will discuss emerging trends in New York State’s workforce development and pending congressional actions. Twomey will also discuss the impact of the state’s financial position on training and employment opportunities.
SUNY Best is a volunteer group comprised of senior staff members from key economic and educational institutions in the Southern Tier. The group works to forge strong alliances, strengthen industry specific needs and provide information and outreach for business. SUNY Best also seeks to explore and support the business community workforce needs for traditional and emerging industry clusters such as nanotechnology, biotechnology, energy, photonics, energy conservation and renewal.
