Harpur Forum explores the vision of Binghamton University’s Small Scale Systems Packaging Center
Bahgat Sammakia, executive director for economic development and director of Binghamton University's Small Scale Systems Packaging Center, will be the keynote speaker at the Harpur Forum’s annual faculty spotlight luncheon. The luncheon will take place on Thursday, December 6, in the President’s Reception Room in the Anderson Center, beginning at 11:30 a.m. and the program will begin at noon.
Sammakia will discuss the development of new electronic applications that enhance the way people live and interact with their surrounding. The Small Scale Systems Packaging Center, which builds upon the resources of the Integrated Electronics Engineering Center and the Center for Advanced Microelectronics Manufacturing, has been designated as a New York State Center for Excellence.
Sammakia holds twelve U.S. patents and has published over 70 technical papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings. He serves on a variety of boards including, the Sheltered Workshop Solutions, the SUNY Research Foundation, the Southern Tier Opportunities Coalition, and the industrial advisory board for the Cornell Center for Materials Research.
