Comedian and actor Aziz Ansari to perform at Binghamton University


BINGHAMTON, NY – Comedian and actor Aziz Ansari is set to perform a stand-up comedy show at 7 p.m. Friday, Apr. 29 in the West Gym located on the Binghamton University campus.

Ansari will be performing as part of his “Dangerously Delicious Tour” which has sold out shows in Los Angeles’ Orpheum Theatre, New York’s Beacon Theatre, and San Francisco’s Fillmore Auditorium.  Ansari, who has been doing stand-up since 2001, was recently named as one of Entertainment Weekly’s top 12 “Future Stars of Comedy” and was named by Paste Magazine as one of “The 10 Best Comedians of the Decade.”  He was also featured on his own Comedy Central special entitled, “Intimate Moments for a Sensual Evening.”

Ansari started his acting career in the critically acclaimed MTV show, Human Giant, which lasted two seasons.  Recently, he has been seen as the host of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards and he now stars in the hit NBC sitcom, Parks and Recreation, alongside Amy Poehler.

He has appeared in such movies as Get Him to the Greek, I Love You, Man, Funny People, and Observe and Report.  He also made appearances in Scrubs, The Flight of the Conchords, and Reno 911!.
