BINGHAMTON, NY- Binghamton University’s sculpture program will host the sixth annual Invitational Iron Pour, starting at 10 a.m. Friday, Apr. 29, in the sculpture studios located in room 154 of the Fine Arts Building on the University campus. This event is free and open to the public.

Sculpture students and faculty from ten college and university programs including Alfred, Cornell, Cortland, Keystone, Maryland, Ramapo, R.I.T., Skidmore, Syracuse and Salem Art Works will be in attendance. Over 100 molds will be poured using Binghamton’s two furnaces as well as three others that will be brought in by the invited programs. The process involves pouring white-hot iron, raised to temperature of more than 2,700 degrees, into special molds to create sculptures.
